Kids often ask me ‘how do I make something look real?’. By real I think they mean that it looks like it’s really there, that it’s not flat but looks round and seems to be in a space within in the paper as much as on it.
There’s a lot to learn, I won’t kid you, but in truth it starts very simply: with shapes.
In this short video I like to share with you how simple shapes, like the square, the circle and the triangle are really the secret to making something look real.
It’s a start. I hope to show you even more, especially as I write this, I know that there are a lot of kids at home who will have lots of time with school closed. Drawing is a great way to pass the time!
Good luck! And let me know what you think.
